Tracy Lyng 

Short Courses Manager

Tracy Lyng joined Viking in 2003 where she had overseen the Crewing & Operations department. Tracy’s wealth of knowledge in the maritime sector and has provided countless officers & crew with a seamless administration experience throughout their careers. She now leads the Maritime Skills Academy administration team as is an integral part of organising and liaising with both clients and candidates when it comes to their training needs here at the MSA and any offsite training that may be required.

Along with Tracy we have an experienced and knowledgeable team who are able to facilitate travel arrangements, hotels, transfers and advice to those seeking training in the maritime industry.

Annie Goldfinch

Short Courses Assistant

Annie joined The Maritime Skills Academy team in February 2016 as the Marine Administration Apprentice. Annie found her apprenticeship through East Kent College (Dover Campus), and has just completed her Business Administration Level 2 qualification. She has now been promoted to full time Short Courses Assistant.

Alongside Tracy and Hannah, Annie deals with all bookings, set up of courses and course planning in her day to day duties.

Hannah Taylor

Short Courses Assistant

Hannah joined Viking in 2012 as Crew & Operations Assistant within the Operations Department. She then moved across to The Maritime Skills Academy team in January 2017 as Short Courses Assistant. Her previous knowledge from the Operations Department has helped with the day to day checking of correct certification as well as knowing what certification is required for each rank.

Alongside Tracy and Annie, Hannah deals with all bookings, set up of courses and course planning in her day to day duties.

James Scott

Yacht Operations Manager

As Yacht Operations & Travel Manager, James works closely with Viking crew managed vessels and our marine travel clients. His main tasks are assisting Captains and their Head of Departments with any crew related support which includes planning, administration, training and travel requirements.

James has over 20 years experience delivering exceptional standards of service on Superyachts and Cruise Ships worldwide. During his career, he worked from Front of House on Cruise Ships, up to Hotel Manager. Then developing the hotel and hospitality operations as part of a team, for five Cruise Ships prior to their launch for Premier Cruise Lines of Miami.

James began his yachting career in 2001, where he gained a great understanding and appreciation for the yachting industry. James held the very busy role as Purser on a Superyacht prior to joining Blue Ocean Yacht Management in 2006 as their Fleet Personnel Manager.

James is very involved with the business development of the Viking Family’s range of products through his vast network within the yacht and commercial industries.

James deals with the PYA GUEST Interior Training.
