Tomorrow...Today

Our Vision Is To Be Widely Recognised As The Standard Bearer For Safety and Simulator Training Standards.

The Maritime Skills Academy was created by marine professionals for marine professionals.

The industry is changing and we aim to be a pivotal driver in shaping that change.

With two centres in the South of England, one in Dover and the latest centre in Portsmouth, we have positioned ourselves as the leading provider of safety and simulation training in the UK.

We believe in ‘tomorrow today’, and the Maritime Skills Academy is helping our partners achieve the stringent safety and governance standards demanded as together we work to save more lives and reduce accident rates.  Through our complete training management ethos we are leading the way in supporting seafarers.

Passionate about our work, we recognise how in a demanding industry, where liability for crew safety can often rest on senior managers and directors, there are no second chances.  Today, with an expert team of trainers and state-of-the-art facilities, we are ready to meet that challenge and are proud to be taking responsibility.

Officially opened by the Princess Royal in 2016, MSA Dover is a £4.5m state-of-the-art facility academy and is the first purpose built maritime safety and training centre in the UK. In 2019 we saw the second centre opened which is the only commercial simulation facility globally that uses the Wartsila integrated NACOS Platinum system.
