Our Vision Is To Be Widely Recognised As The Standard Bearer For Marine, Industry And Fire Safety Training Standards.
The Maritime Skills Academy was created by marine professionals for marine professionals.
The industry is changing and we aim to be a pivotal driver in shaping that change.
Conveniently located on the Viking Campus in Dover, overlooking the busiest international seaway in the world, we saw this as the ideal location to build the first, of what will be a growing number of world-class centres, to meet for maritime safety and training.
We believe in ‘tomorrow today’, and the Maritime Skills Academy is helping our partners achieve the stringent safety and governance standards demanded as together we work to save more lives and reduce accident rates. Through our complete training management ethos we are leading the way in supporting seafarers or those working at risk from water or fire.
Passionate about our work, we recognise how in a demanding industry, where liability for crew safety can often rest on senior managers and directors, there are no second chances. Today, with an expert team of trainers and state-of-the-art facilities, we are ready to meet that challenge and are proud to be taking responsibility.
Officially opened by the Princess Royal in 2016, this £4.5m state-of-the-art facility academy is the first purpose built maritime safety and training centre in the UK.
