Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

For people who deal with first aid at work enabling them to be emergency first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Description

The course will cover the below learning outcomes and at the end of the course the learner will:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Be able to assess an emergency situation safely
  • Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries

This course can be taught at the Maritime Skills Academy in Dover, Portsmouth, or for group bookings at a location of your choice in Kent.

Prerequisites

  • Be at least 14 years of age.
  • Due to the physical nature of this course, learners should wear appropriate clothing an footwear, i.e. trousers and flat footwear.

  • This course does require physical work that is carried out on the floor so anyone with injuries that prevent them from doing so will be unable to complete the course and will have to re-book once they are fit and well.

  • Ensure that you bring with you photo ID; for example; Driving Licence or Passport

Certification

Practical Assessments: will consist of the following and will take place throughout the course:

  • CPR and safe use of an AED
  • Choking casualty
  • Wounds, bleeding and shock
  • Catastrophic bleeding 

Theory Assessment: will consist of 1 multiple choice paper which is to be sat under exam conditions.

Once you have successfully passed, you will receive an electronic certificate directly from Qualsafe.  Please allow up to 5 working days from completion of course.
