Description
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. Having the correct first aid provision in the workplace is not just a legal requirement, it is incredibly important for the safety of all members of staff!
As a regulated qualification, employers can book this course for their employees and rest assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks.

Note: The First Aid at Work content aligns with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) syllabus.
Prerequisites
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level.
There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that learners have a minimum of level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Due to the practical nature of this course, learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear e.g: trousers and flat footwear.
Certification
Practical Assessments: will consist of the following and will take place throughout the course:
- CPR and safe use of an AED
- Unconsious casualty
- Choking casualty
- Wounds, bleeding, and shock
- Catastrophic bleeding
- Management of anaphylaxis
- Management of fractures
- Secondary survey
Theory Assessment: will consist of one multiple choice paper which is to be sat under exam conditions.
Once you have successfully passed, you will receive an electronic certificate directly from Qualsafe. Please allow up to five working days from completion of course.
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The learner needs to retake the qualification before the expiry date to remain qualified.
