Maritime Safety Instructor
Stuart spent 6 years studying at technical and catering college, obtaining qualifications within hospitality, before working at sea with several cruise lines. His focus was initially on food and beverage, gaining experience of world cuisine and guest service, before moving into a senior role, training onboard crew for future careers.
Following several roles both onboard luxury cruise liners and shoreside within the hotel department/recruitment and training, he is currently in the role of Maritime Safety Instructor at the Maritime Skills Academy. Stuart is focused on delivering a high level of training for the shipping and wind farm industries, covering all elements of the STCW certification and safety at sea.
As part of his role at the MSA, Stuart has visited Virgin Voyages crew onboard Scarlet Lady to undertake hotel and safety training development.
Over the years Stuart has obtained a vast amount of experience throughout the maritime industry and is now passing this knowledge on to others who attend training courses at the centre.
