Marine Training Manager
Darryl joined the Maritime Skills Academy after leaving his career at sea. Starting as a cabin steward he undertook a cadetship and has since worked with general cargo ships, high speed passenger vessels, aggregate dredgers, small commercial vessels and offshore industry support ships. After attaining his chief mate ticket he has transferred his skill base into the training field complemented greatly by his previous experience in outdoor pursuits instructing. Darryl is also a volunteer RNLI lifeboat crewmember here in Dover and this alongside his varied range of shipping industry experience makes him a great asset to the team.
Responsible for the Lifeboat Training Centre and assisting on all other courses Darryl continues to work on expanding and developing the facilities and training opportunities that the Maritime Skills Academy can offer. Darryl also leads courses with local schools in the MSA's "taster sessions" to promote careers in the maritime industry.
